This machine was not designed as a toy., but as a small domestic machine for general sewing and small repair work.  Made in Japan for the local market where storage space was always a consideration.  Betonia appealed in the 1950’s and was considered to be a strong and reliable product.  Totally portable. Rarely seen outside of Japan and sought after by sewing machine collectors worldwide.
