WILLCOX & GIBBS MACHINE
Made in America approx 1889.
This company also had factories in Italy, Belgium, France and Britain. It was one of the major producers of early Sewing machines for the Clothing trade and Millinery trades.
This particular machine was in use in Chicago USA at a Millinery Company. It is still fitted with a cut-and-crimp attachment designed specifically for millinery.
This is a rare machine, from the early industrial age when Millinery was at its peak.
